There are some things in life that as much as you try to push them away they keep coming back.
Can you think of anything that falls into that category for you?
(pause for as long as you would like to)
Its ok, if you cant.
For me, writing is one of them.
It started in 5th grade, my parents were recently divorced, I was at a new school, in the midst of a transcontinental move away from everything I knew, and my English teacher assigned us a lengthy, creative writing essay with a simple prompt:
“Write about how your parents met.”
I remember innocently trying to ask my mother for details, she gave me a one sentence answer. I then tried to ask my father to jog his memory and got nowhere, fast.
Stumped, perplexed and pained, my first writing assignment of the year in a new school with a new teacher who I was desperately trying to impress was a royal failure. I got a D on the assignment for lack of creative details and as you can imagine, decided I clearly that I was no good at writing.
My second attempt looked something like this: I decide to keep a diary as a teen, writing my deepest darkest soap opera secrets into it (keeping it under lock and key of course!) and find out, to my dismay, that my mother found the key and had read every juicy entry.
Yet, every astrology reading I had in my life has pointed towards writing, and despite my mothers journal betrayal, I have piles of journals from childhood till today filled with poems, songs, joy, hurt, tears dated all the way back almost 25 years ago!
It took decades to get me to admit to go beyond the pushing away towards the knowing how important it is for my stories to come alive, to move from my heart, mind, brain, guts and onto paper and this year, with the encouragement of Meryl a family friend in the publishing industry, I wrote my very first e-book entitled My Spiritual Birth: Connect To The Soul Of Your Child During Pregnancy & Birth.
I just couldn’t push it away any longer.
So that’s the very beginning and as I write and record more here on substack it is my deepest hope that those who need to connect to my work will find a space to receive exactly what they need to journey spiritually with their soul and the soul’s of those they are drawing into this world. This is dedicated to all of you on your path of conception, pregnancy, birth and beyond.
What I have discovered is truly magical; its my honest desire to share it with you in this safe space so you may discover that YOU have access to YOUR OWN unique magic too.
Let me help guide you to find your way through your expectancy and beyond.
Love,
Alison
